Bio

I am a public servant, behavioural economist, and enthusiast for innovation and a strong evidence base. As director of strategic policy with Canada’s Treasury Board Secretariat, I lead a team helping advance a vision for the future of the federal government and how it can best serve Canadians. Some of our key files include supporting experimentation across government, medium-term planning, and international engagement.

I previously led an Innovation Unit at the Labour Program, helping the Labour Program experiment and innovate in order to rethink and refine its policies and operations. Before that, I led a team with the Results Division at TBS, helping write the Policy on Results and guide and advise departments on how to measure and evaluate the impact of their work.

As a Clarendon Scholar and SSHRC Doctoral Fellow, I completed my DPhil (PhD) on behavioural economics at the University of Oxford. I studied how economic policy could help people plan for the future in areas such as retirement saving and energy-efficient technology adoption. I also taught undergraduate and master’s-level courses in economics and environmental policy.
